Viva Cuba! WORDS OF REVOLUTION is going to Havana!

This was probably the best early Christmas present that I have ever had... My film got accepted at Havana Film Festival in Cuba. I would of never imagine that I would ever go to Cuba. Not only is Cuba a historic place ... It is one of the best or the best Latin Film Festival in the world.

I  couldn't believe that my film entered this film festival. Its definitely the highlight of the year for me. I have to say once I touched grounds on the island...  my whole life felt like it was changing in front of me. I can't really explain what I felt, but it was a good feeling.  I didn't know what to expect, but learned really fast that I was around some heavy hitters in the Latin movie business. I saw some incredible films that I probably wouldn't see in the states. Also, there were people who were hardcore movie lovers as well.

What I liked most was that I got to experience another culture...I felt like I was living in the 50's in Cuba. There were a lot regulations as well because it was a Communist country. But people were very pleasant and nice. They definitely live a simple life. There were no crimes or did I have to be worried about getting robbed. It was a very peaceful place. It was a world where there is a lack of  television and internet. I just imagine how life can be again without the internet...

Cuba really changed my life ...

Going International!

Its been an incredible journey so far. My film will be having its first international screening. I got into Guatemala's International Film Festival! Yeah, that's right...Central America. ICARO Film Festival is Central America's best known Film Festivals that premieres Central American films in Guatemala. So it is nice to be on board with the festival.

And of course I will be attending! I have to make the trip and make it happen. Its just an honor to get recognized like this. My boy Santos will be making the trip as well. He'll pretty much be my tour guide. He's done many performances out there.

I definitely feel like I am taking that next step ... that next step is taking it to the next level.  God bless for everything ... I never knew that I would reach this far!

"Doing your Doc" Program at Nalip's Media Summit

It's been an incredible journey so far. I finally got a break and got some recognition! My film participated in its first program at a prestigious program called "Doing your Doc" by NALIP's Media Summit.  The program is to help filmmakers get feedback from industry people. So the cool thing is the "big-timers" look at your work.  But more importantly, I got some real good advice.

NALIP  is probably the biggest or one of the biggest Latino Producers organization in Los Angeles. I was really grateful for getting selected. At first I couldn't believe it, but then it became a reality when I went to NALIP's Media Summit conference in Los Angeles. They really supported the film and I was really happy about that!  Its funny how life works, but I've learned to never give up! We'll see what happens next.

New York Screening

I've made it to NY. Its definitely been a journey with this film. I'm glad that some people are being aware of the documentary. My film has been invited to be screened at a community college in Long Island, New York. I had someone contact me and said he was very interested in my film and bringing it to the community in Long Island. Well i got to know the person overtime before I decided to take a trip to NY. To make the story short, I'm glad my film touched someone because he realized my film was making a difference and most importantly it was doing something positive. That is definitely the reason why I love what I do... Filmmaking and making a difference. Thank you to folks of Long Island for making things possible and making dreams a reality. Much love!
